The ‘best buzzer’ of the season 13 Qualifiers

Elizabeth Morris/NBC We have a (young) champion! After six rounds of intense voting, we have declared a winner! The “best buzzer” of the American Ninja Warrior season 13 Qualifiers belongs to 16-year-old Vance Walker! It’s easy to see why the readers selected this run over and over again through the bracket. Vance, who was just 16 at the time the show was filmed, absolutely stormed the course. His confident run included a jaw-dropping moment when he listened in on Matt and Akbar’s conversation and added in his two cents, all while working his way through the Pretzel Twist. But that […]

All-Stars Competition: 2020 rewind

Photo by: David Becker/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images We will have a new All-Stars Challenge sometime in the future! In the dark of the American Ninja Warrior off-season, there’s always a glimmer of light in the form of the yearly specials! We announced three upcoming specials back in September. The specials are recorded around and after the regular competitions and aired after the season wraps. Feedback gave Stage Two of the National Finals a B+

Elizabeth Morris/NBC We also received some really interesting suggestions. The report card is in for Stage Two of American Ninja Warrior’s National Finals! Last week, we asked the readers to grade each obstacle on season 13’s Stage Two course. The results are intriguing. The course held up pretty well under scrutiny. Five of the seven obstacles (we’re including the time limit as an obstacle) received an A grade. Both Hammer Drop and the Falling Shelves got A’s with 50% of the votes. The time limit had a nice show of support as well, with 48% of the votes giving those […]

Let’s grade Stage Two of the National Finals

Elizabeth Morris/NBC Do the obstacles pass your tests? You know how deeply we love everything American Ninja Warrior, but we have enjoyed our recent dabbling in some lightly critical reviews of the obstacles. Using fan feedback, we’ve taken a harder-than-usual look at some of season 13’s obstacles. Since this year’s Stage One course got a little roughed up when we asked which obstacle should be removed, we thought it would be only fair if Stage Two got a turn in the hot seat. Let’s grade Stage Two of the season 13 National Finals. 27 Ninjas attempted Stage Two. Only four […]

‘Best buzzer’ of season 13: Final round of the Qualifiers

Elizabeth Morris/NBC Jake Murray or Vance Walker? Oooh! This is a good one! After five rounds of voting, we’ve arrived at the American Ninja Warrior “best buzzer” championship for the Qualifiers. Your votes have whittled away the competition, leaving only two buzzers left for the title in this round. Jake Murray Jake put all his antics aside during the Qualifiers and finished the course with a time of 1:47.20, the fastest of his night. Vance Walker During Vance’s run, the 16-year-old managed to casually chat with Akbar while on the Pretzel Twist and then sailed up the Mega Wall, earning […]
